Our opportunity to change three lives at a time.

Our prison partnership with a correctional facility in New Mexico gives incarcerated participants the opportunity to become skilled, compassionate dog handlers while making a meaningful contribution to the communities we serve. Through foundational coursework, humane reward-based training grounded in learning science, competency assessments, and supervised hands-on practice, participants develop the knowledge, confidence, and responsibility needed to help prepare a rescue dog for its next chapter.

The impact reaches far beyond the training room. A dog gains essential skills and care, an inmate handler finds purpose and the opportunity to give back, and a Veteran receives a service dog to better navigate and enjoy their world. Together, they create a connected journey built on trust, learning, compassion, and second chances.

“It showed me that I still have a heart—that I can actually care for something other than myself… I’m giving them a second chance, and they’ve given me a second chance.”
